MCP server for Canvas Builder — let Claude (or any MCP client) build, refine, publish, and download real multi-page websites from plain-language descriptions.

Quick start

First run: link your account

Ask your assistant to "link my Canvas Builder account". It will give you a URL — open it, sign in (free accounts work), and approve the requested permissions. That's it: the token is stored locally at ~/.canvasbuilder/token (mode 600) and never shown to the model.

Alternatively, set the CANVASBUILDER_TOKEN environment variable if you already have an agent token.

Permissions model

Access is scoped, revocable, and user-approved:

• sites:build — build, refine, download, read status (default)
• sites:publish — publish to a live URL (opt-in)
• sites:domain — attach custom domains (opt-in)

The user approves the exact scopes at link time and can revoke the connection anytime from their Canvas Builder account. Tokens expire after 90 days. Every action is audit-logged.

Credits

Builds consume the linked user's Canvas Builder credits (new accounts get free credits to start). If the balance runs out the API returns a clear "insufficient credits" error — the user can top up at canvasbuilder.co/credits.
