Electron CDP Bridge

CDP-to-MCP framework for Electron applications.

Bridges Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) with Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling AI agents to interact with Electron apps through a structured tool interface.

Architecture

Monorepo with two packages:

• packages/core -- Framework layer. CDP connection management, MCP server factory, and the bridge that translates MCP tool calls into CDP commands.
• packages/adapter-obsidian -- Obsidian-specific adapter. Exposes Obsidian's DOM and API surface as MCP tools via the core bridge.

Installation

npm install

This installs dependencies for all workspace packages.

Usage

Build all packages:

npm run build

Run tests:

npm test

Start the Obsidian adapter:

npm run start --workspace=packages/adapter-obsidian

Security

CDP provides RCE-equivalent access to the target Electron process. The debug port must only bind to 127.0.0.1 (loopback). Never expose it to a network interface. Treat any CDP endpoint as a local-only, trusted channel.
