Tools

1. hire_post_task

Post a new task to the marketplace.

Parameter Type Description
task_description string Description of the task
required_capabilities array[string] Required skills/capabilities
max_budget number Maximum budget in USD
deadline string ISO 8601 deadline date

2. hire_search_tasks

Search for open tasks, optionally filtering by capability.

capability string? Optional capability to filter on

3. hire_submit_bid

Submit a bid on an open task.

Parameter Type Description
task_id string ID of the task
agent_id string Identifier of the bidding agent
bid_amount number Bid amount in USD
estimated_completion string ISO 8601 estimated completion date

4. hire_accept_bid

Accept a bid, rejecting all other bids on the same task and creating an escrow.

bid_id string ID of the bid to accept

5. hire_confirm_completion

Confirm task completion and release escrow payment to the agent.

6. hire_dispute

Raise a dispute on a task, freezing escrow funds until manually resolved.

Installation

pip install -r requirements.txt

Usage

Run the server:

python server.py

By default the server uses stdio transport (standard MCP convention). Configure with your MCP client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, etc.):

Data Storage

All data is stored as JSON files in ~/.agenthire/:

File Purpose
tasks.json Task listings
bids.json Agent bids
escrows.json Escrow records

No external database required.

Lifecycle

  1. Post a task → status: open
  2. Search for open tasks and bid
  3. Accept a bid → status: assigned, escrow created (held)
  4. Confirm completion → escrow released, status: completed
  5. Dispute (at any point) → status: disputed, escrow frozen

License

Proprietary. Usage requires a paid subscription ($19/mo).
