Usage — step by step

1. Install (Python 3.9+):

   pip install ghaudit
   

2. Audit a GitHub org's security posture from an export JSON file (branch rules, 2FA, secrets — defensive analysis only):

   ghaudit audit org-export.json
   

3. Write a self-contained HTML or JSON report instead of the console table:

   ghaudit audit org-export.json --format html -o ghaudit-report.html
   ghaudit audit org-export.json --format json -o ghaudit-report.json
   

4. Read the output: the table summarizes findings by severity. For automation, parse the --format json report. The process exits 1 when any CRITICAL/HIGH (failing) findings exist, 0 otherwise.
5. Gate CI on the org posture:

   ghaudit audit org-export.json --format json -o report.json
