About

Typed client for the Arxo Law services: the MCP server (its full tool table over Streamable HTTP) and the public package registry / atlas. Transport and shape validation only — no legal semantics, no engine.

README

A highlighted rule connects to a result through a visible trail of evidence.

Arxo Law

Run a rule. See the answer and why. Replay the result.

Checks npm Arxo on DevHunt

Try in browser · Run locally · Write rules · Publish a package · Install in VS Code · Connect MCP

SDK and CLI packages are available. Engine source is planned.

Run locally

With Node.js 20 or newer:

git clone \
  https://github.com/arxohq/law \
  arxo-law
cd arxo-law
npm ci --ignore-scripts
npm start
Your first rule
  Rule Adult
  Input Alice, age 20
  Answer adult = yes
  Why Applied Adult
  Missing unknown (no age fact)
  Replay identical evaluation bytes

Try npm start -- --age 16. The answer becomes unknown: this model has no rule establishing adulthood below 18. Then edit the rule and run again. Walk through the example →

Modelling on Arxo: public demonstrations

These public model repositories are demonstrations: a small sample of a much larger corpus of models on Arxo, chosen to show what modelling looks like across subjects. They share one language and runtime; each pins its sources, records its cases with their answers and states its scope per package.

Area Repositories
Constitutions Japan · Kazakhstan
Civil codes Code civil · BGB
Tax US Internal Revenue Code
Treaties and principles UN Charter · UNIDROIT Principles
Benefits and insurance French family benefits · German housing benefit · Kazakhstan motor insurance
Game rules FIDE Laws of Chess
Sciences OpenStax mechanics · chemistry · biology
Philosophy Summa Theologiae
Comparison Catala and Arxo on one regulation

One recorded question from five of them:

Source One recorded question
FIDE Laws of Chess Second completed illegal move: loss COMPUTED / TRUE_ONLY; with the opponent's inability to checkmate established, draw COMPUTED / TRUE_ONLY
OpenStax mechanics Applied force 80 N against a maximum static friction of 80 N: stays at rest TRUE_ONLY; at 90 N, FALSE_ONLY
Code civil A debt from 2000, proceedings in 2015: time-barred FALSE_ONLY under the 1804 model, TRUE_ONLY under the modern limitation model
Constitution of Japan Eight votes of all twelve members of a House: Article 96 threshold TRUE_ONLY; seven votes, NEITHER
Summa Theologiae Self-defence with an adjudicated proportionality assessment: TRUE_ONLY; without it, REQUIRES_JUDGMENT

Start with chess in a fresh directory:

npm init -y
npm install --ignore-scripts @arxo/[email protected] @arxo/[email protected]

Save the chess README's example as example.mjs and run node example.mjs. Most other repositories run with the CLI: npm install -g @arxo/cli, clone the repository, then law eval examples/<case> as each README shows. The full list with observation details is in the ecosystem page.

Choose your next step

I want to… Start here
Run an existing model French housing-aid formula: input → answer → evidence
Run a published source model Modelling on Arxo: public demonstrations
Write my own rules A small .law source, compiler diagnostics and replay
Publish my own package From rules to a release another project installs by exact version
Work in an editor Install Arxo Law in VS Code or through Open VSX
Use Python Published Python SDK and canon packages
Use a model with an assistant Install a specific MCP slice and verify the connection

How an answer is built

Age 20 and the rule age at least 18 produce adult yes; the explanation names Adult and the same input replays identically.

Arxo compiles rules into a model, applies the supplied facts and attaches an explanation and canonical evaluation document. The examples execute locally after installation. Law is the first domain; standards and other rulebooks use the same machinery. A proof explains the selected model's answer.
